After our co-founder Katie Wells had her first child, she got sick -- and it launched her into a years-long journey to figure out what was wrong with her and how to get better.
Pulling from her journalism and nutrition background (and her experience writing for her blog Wellness Mama), Katie spent thousands of hours reading studies and researching ingredients. She even went back to school to study nutrition and learned that she needed to avoid the harmful ingredients that were common in most personal care products because they seemed to make her condition worse.
Katie found that making her own personal care products from scratch was the only way to avoid harmful ingredients. In the process, she used her newfound passion for nutrition as the foundation to create recipes that went beyond safe -- they nourished the body from the outside in. And she couldn’t believe the results.
Realizing that many people don't have the time to make their own products from scratch, Wellness was created to get these life-changing formulas to as many families as possible.
