Wellnesse is B Corp Certified!
Our B Corp certification is one of our proudest accomplishments. But we understand it may not be obvious what this means about our business practices.
Our B Corp certification means our business model has a positive social and environmental impact, as determined by B Labs. Our practices, methods, and principles fit into the B Corporation's mission to change the modern definition of business success. For B Labs, success means being a force for good and building a sustainable economy. To earn our B Corporation certification, we worked to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance.
Here's a breakdown of how it all works.

Who Can Be Certified?
There is some confusion when it comes to who qualifies to earn the certification.
Benefit Corporations
Benefit corporations and B Corps are not the same. Both are organizations that prioritize environmental and social values equally with profit and maintain high standards for using business as a force for good in the world. However, one of the largest differences between the two is that the benefit corporation model self-reports performance. For B Corp certification, businesses undergo a certification process that must be renewed every three years. (That means there’s no one and done for B Corp status; you have to keep earning it!)
Whereas a benefit corporation is a legal structure, a B Corp receives a third-party certification. While B Labs plays a critical role in B Corps becoming certified, it has no official role in the oversight of benefit corporations.
Nonprofits
B Lab is a nonprofit itself. However, nonprofit businesses don't qualify for certification. They understand the critical impact nonprofits have on the world (obviously), but B Labs recognized that for-profit companies should also have a certified standard of helping the planet.
For-Profit Companies
With that in mind, for-profit companies are encouraged to consider profits for stakeholders while still achieving the overall goal of the B Corp movement. Entrepreneurship is also encouraged to commit to corporate social responsibility, specific environmental performance, and sustainable business practices from the ground up.
The companies committed to achieving these goals undergo a thorough assessment. The B impact assessment determines the social impact, transparency, and sustainability of the business. Both small businesses and large ones can certify!
To better understand the root of the B Corp movement, here is their declaration in their own words.
The B Corp Declaration of Interdependence
"We envision a global economy that uses business as a force for good.
This economy is comprised of a new type of corporation - the B Corporation -
Which is purpose-driven and creates benefit for all stakeholders, not just shareholders.
As B Corporations and leaders of this emerging economy, we believe:
- That we must be the change we seek in the world.
- That all business ought to be conducted as if people and place mattered.
- That, through their products, practices, and profits, businesses should aspire to do no harm and benefit all.
- To do so requires that we act with the understanding that we are each dependent upon another and thus responsible for each other and future generations."
There are over 6000 companies certified across more than 80 countries, all with this unifying goal.
How The B Impact Assessment Works
The B Impact Assessment is a process through which an organization answers a series of questions regarding their governance, environment, employees/workers, community, and customers. With this information, the assessment evaluates the entire company to determine the operations and model of the business as a whole. B Labs uses the data gathered to understand how the business positively or negatively impacts workers, customers, and the environment.
The assessment investigates everything from the supply chain to charitable giving to public transparency. The point is to consider how the business conducts itself now and promote growth in a positive direction in the future. B Labs encourages enterprises to consider stakeholder impact long-term and to build these positive metrics into their legal structure. If the organization meets the minimum score requirement, they may move forward and apply for certification.
Qualifying businesses must pay initial certification fees and an annual licensing fee to become and remain a certified B Corp. This framework ensures incorporations continue adhering to the guidelines that keep you and your loved ones safe!

How We Fit In With The Mission
At Wellnesse, we know the world is already overwhelmed with toxins. Our planet is poisoned with plastic chemicals, processed foods, and household items that deteriorate the health of families and the earth.
Instead of standing by and letting our kids inherit all these tragedies, we decided to take a stand.
Because the thing is, our bodies absorb most of what we put on them.
Most conventional toothpastes contain many of the same ingredients used in household products like acrylic paints and antifreeze. They use plastic beads as an abrasive for scrubbing and artificial sweeteners that can lead to behavioral issues.
Shampoos and conditioners use sulfates, dyes, and fragrances, all harsh chemicals that disrupt our bodies' natural systems and processes. Conventional personal care products contain many endocrine disruptors, carcinogens, neurotoxins, and more.
We want better for our kids and yours.
So, we created clean, effective personal care products that are safe for you, safe for the planet, and packed with extra goodies for your body to absorb.
Replacing toxic products with our all-natural personal care line will help you significantly reduce your family's toxin exposure. We've also been careful to package our collection in a way that gives back to the environment - we exclusively use compostable and recyclable materials!
We strive to attain and maintain sustainable business practices with natural ingredients and packaging that don't harm the earth.
That's why we couldn't be more excited about our B Corp certification. Our certification demonstrates the hard work we've put into creating a sustainable business that will leave the earth better than we found it. It also certifiably recognizes our first and primary priority: your health.
Shop Wellnesse and join us in making a cleaner, healthier world for our kids to grow up in!

Previously I had commented about the shampoo running out of tube. I was told to hold the tube vertical. I am close to 70 years old and have bought many many brands of shampoo. Never had I had a problem with this. Why have these other brands not had this problem.? It’s such a waste of shampoo to run out of the tube. Your product is so good in many ways except this.
Please continue your good work in supplying good quality products that enhance health.
