FAQs - INGREDIENTS & INTEGRITY
Where can I find an ingredient list?
Are Wellnesse products vegan?
There is sheep’s wool derived keratin in the Smoothing Shampoo and Enriching Conditioner, and silk to make up the floss. These are the only non-vegan products. Sheep need to be sheared to stay healthy, so that is part of our sustainability approach as well! We are cruelty-free across the board and are Leaping Bunny Certified.
Is Wellnesse Cruelty Free?
Absolutely. We never, ever test on animals. We are also proud to say we are Leaping Bunny Certified.
Do your products contain any peanuts or tree nuts?
All our products are nut, egg and dairy free. Although our manufactures use ingredients derived from nuts, eggs and dairy for other companies, their standards are very high when it comes to cross-contamination and cleanliness. All equipment is cleaned and sanitized between uses.
Is Wellnesse GMO Free?
Yes. All of our products are free of genetically modified organisms.
What size of hydroxyapatite do you use?
We use 5-8 um particle size, which our research chemists guarantee is effective for teeth! So it is not nano, but as close as we can get. To get smaller particle sizes, we would actually have to use synthetic nano-hydroxyapatite. But we want to make sure we keep things naturally-derived!
What percentage of hydroxyapatite makes up your toothpaste and where does it come from?
The hydroxyapatite makes up about 5% of our toothpaste formula. It is naturally derived from calcium carbonate mineral deposits and is harvested in France.
Is the sorbitol in your toothpaste safe?
The sorbitol we use is derived from tapioca starch. While studies show that ingesting relatively large amounts of sorbitol may be problematic, we use a very small amount in our formula. In our research, it is safe for the mouth and it is in such a small amount that essentially no sorbitol is actually ingested. We use it mainly as a binding ingredient. We are also proud to say it also has an Environmental Working Group (EWG) rating of 1 for toxicity level based on several factors!
What is the shelf life of your products?
Our toothpaste, deodorant, and hand sanitizer have a 3 year shelf life while our shampoo and conditioner have a 2 year shelf life.
