After I had my first child, I got sick. It was so frustrating to not feel like myself - but it launched me into a years-long journey to figure out what was wrong with me and how to get better.

Pulling from my journalism background, I spent thousands of hours researching and reading studies. I even went back to school to study nutrition. I learned that I needed to avoid the harmful ingredients that are common in most personal care products because they seemed to make me feel worse.

Making personal care products from scratch was the only way to avoid harmful ingredients. You should have seen my kitchen! In this process, I used my newfound passion for nutrition as the foundation to create recipes that went beyond safe -- they nourished the body from the outside in. And I couldn’t believe the results.

With my homemade toothpaste, I was able to drastically improve my oral health and even remineralized several small cavities. My teeth got healthier and whiter! When I shared the toothpaste with family and friends, they experienced the same results and kept asking for more.
