while whitening and cleansing power is less than the charcoal toothpaste, this one is more minty and better suited for daily use than the charcoal. leaves teeth feeling clean with little to no residue.

Less pain though I am taking new Ca/ Mag supplement that is bio-available too. I think both helped me.
